Chelsea' C.R.I.N.G.E Report | Week 4: Banger Edition - Intermediate

Welcome to the first C.R.I.N.G.E report after the halfway point of the regular season! What I’ve learned from this season is that I’m a lot worse at rating these 14 teams than I was at rating the 32 teams last split. Everyone (ID Toxin) is making my job very difficult but as always I’m still doing my best. More write ups on more teams now that I’ve finished taking jasoncript5’s lunch money in MetaShift.

This week we take a look at my personal thoughts on the top 7 teams and a bit of a playoff preview!

Without further ado, presenting,

Chelsea’s CCS Recent Important Noteworthy Gaming Events Report,

Colors represent general tiers of strength

1.  Hard Hat Zone

Enter the Zone. Hard Hat Zone.

Hard Hat Zone are looking like the number 1 team coming into the back half of the regular season, only having 1 game loss to Dorado Gaming Omega of all teams. Alternative, their star player, leads the league in kills and is 2nd in DPM and has not disappointed with his pocket picks.

They play 3 weaker teams for the rest of their regular season, and I expect them to remain the only undefeated team as we head into playoffs.

2.  Bing Chillers Rush

Group B for Bing Chillers

The Bing Chillers sit atop group B after the ID Toxin incident left no team in group B without a loss. This split, their standout performer has been HunterWolfSteel5 in the jungle. A famous former Pipp enjoyer and participant in 76% of BC Rush’s kills, Hunterwolfsteel has been a star on the rift.

Looking forward, their one difficult match will be against Dorado Gaming Omega in Week 7 for their Cross Group match. While it doesn’t really matter for standings, it regardless will be a match for bragging rights as the chillers would much prefer not to be another easy set for Dorado Gaming.

3.  Going Soulbert

Boulsert

I don’t really know how exactly to feel about Going Soulbert. They’ve looked fairly clean in their wins against Dorado, Contingent and Lotus but got absolutely blasted by HHZ, a team that Dorado was able to remain at least competitive with.

I think that this week’s match against Mint Tax Evasion has to be a clean one from them if they want to make sure that the world knows that their loss to HHZ was a slip up and nothing else. As for players to watch, just watch Soulbert. It’s in the name.

4.  Dorado Gaming Iota

Prepare for trouble…

My biggest worry for Dorado Gaming Iota is their roster stability. Rocket a.k.a. “top dream” has already missed a series for DoG Iota and last split on MNG Storm their bedtime potentially cost them a game 5 against Moonstone Gaming. While it seems like a small problem to have, these types of things will come back to haunt you later in the tournament.

As for actual gameplay stuff, BKP a.k.a. Backpack Keeping Professional has the highest DPM in the league, so he’s definitely doing something right. Their match against ID Toxin this week is definitely their most important one left in the split as two top teams from group B go at it.

5.  Dorado Gaming Omega

And make it double!

Dorado Gaming Omega is looking to recover after having one of the worst openings in organization history, getting rinsed by two of the top teams in HHZ and GS. However, things are not all doom and gloom as it seems like after finding their rhythm and their mid laner (thanks for letting me borrow him uwu) they’re looking strong.

Their schedule for the rest of the league looks really easy, especially knowing that TA Fury’s mid laner ranked out and their only tough match is the cross group match that doesn’t matter for standings. Regardless, after the Scrot incident I’m sure Omega wants revenge on the Bing Chillers and there will be pride and trash talk on the line.

6.  ID Toxin

Fuck you Sutekh

I don’t like ID Toxin because they just had to start looking really good, like a top tier team, right after I rated them super poorly at the start. Then, when I gave them the credit that I THOUGHT they deserved, they just had to go ahead and lose to MrPotate of all people.

ID Toxin plays Dorado Gaming Iota tonight, and besides DoG, they don’t really have any hard matches left, so they really shouldn’t be dropping any other matches and can start looking towards playoffs.

7.  Mint Tax Evasion

Donowalled again

MINT Gaming Tax evasion looked like they could potentially be a dark horse team until Dorado Omega’s band of substitutes put these guys in their place. That + dropping a game to Moonstone means I’m not ready to put these guys any higher than 7th place overall until they take down a top team.

If they can take down Going Soulbert this week, then they have a legit argument for being in the top 5, but until then these guys are like MINT Savage’s banter: mid at best.

PLAYOFFS PREDICTIONS

Group A

1
Hard Hat Zone
2
Going Soulbert
3
Dorado Gaming Omega
4
MINT Tax Evasion
5
TA Fury
6
Lotus Prestige
7
Renge Tea Time

Group B

1
Bing Chillers Rush
2
Dorado Iota
3
ID Toxin
4
Contingent Yellow
5
Stunned Mythos
6
Nameless Echo
7
Moonstone Gaming

I definitely had a much harder time predicting what would happen in group B Versus group A; Group B feels like there’s a clear separation between the top 3 and bottom 4 but within those groups I find it difficult to distinguish who will win each game. Either way, I’m excited to see how these last 3 weeks will pan out and how different the finals standings end up being.
