by Chelsea on Mar 2

Hi! Until Gl4cial gets started with content, I’ll be doing the intermediate power rankings/content for you guys, so good luck with that.

Also, Mr. Potate is back, so that’s kinda cool.

Now that another week has passed, we do a little more adjustments with the rankings. I’m excited to see how the rest of the split will turn out!

Without further ado, presenting,

A lot of changes at both the top of the table and at the bottom of the table as some matchups between similar ranked teams swung in unexpected ways. Shoutout to Moonstone Gaming for having the biggest drop from the preseason rankings, going all the way from 6th to 11th.

Dorado Gaming Omega

Another Easy Loss for Dorado Gaming

Dorado Gaming Omega took a heartbreaking (for the hivemind) loss last night against Hard Hat Zone in their second defeat of the CCS Intermediate split. For a team that was projected to be second in the league, these are obviously very disappointing results.

While they managed to bounce back from matg’s INTeresting Seraphine game 1,

Exhibit A: Even Flay is funny sometimes

they were unable to close the series out in game 3, with one of the most disgusting set of responses to B1 Xayah that I’ve ever seen.

Exhibit B: Hard Hat Zone mind control technology hard at work

I do want to highlight Dojos a.k.a. Banger for his performances all night, as he seemed to be the most sane member of Dorado Omega, setting up good bot dives to help snowball Omega to a victory game 2, and having valiant performances on Wukong and Diana in their losses.

According to support Hoshiumi, “we should win out the rest of the split, or else we fucking suck, cheers”, so the Dorado faithful hopefully will be rewarded with a 4-2 regular season finish.

Nameless Echo

Slightly better than 14th

Nameless Echo, dubbed the worst team in the CCS by my preseason rankings, has already exceeded expectations by taking a series off of Moonstone Gaming and a game off of ID Toxin, two teams that were predicted to be much higher than 14th place.

Clearly, these guys aren’t the worst team in the league (that title now goes to Stunned or Contingent, it’s a toss up honestly) but it remains to be seen if they’re top contenders. This week they have their cross group match against Renge Tea Time (who I still suspect are those loli guys on youtube) which doesn’t really mean much for the standings. However, losing to Renge Tea Time is probably pretty embarrassing so for their sake I hope they don’t lose.

All of Nameless Echo’s wins have been on Kai’sa, with them B1ing it twice in a row in their back to back game wins against Moonstone Gaming.

Exhibit C: Personally, the Bel’vussy fits more of my tastes, but whatever floats your boat I guess

It might be worth a ban, it might not be because if you’re losing draft to B1 kaisa, you might just need to have a different person run draft .

Bing Chillers

Chillers Szn?!

The Chillers toppled the number 1 team last week and cement themselves as a top tier team after a strong all around performance. The thing that I like about this chillers roster is that they all seem to be playing consistently well; no weak links or exceptional strong points, just a good all around team.

They remind me of last split’s Dorado Gaming Gamma, with Hunterwolfsteel5 fulfilling a similar role as RareCandy did last split.

This week they play against a surging ID Toxin in what should be a banger match

Exhibit C: idk what this is either tbh

I think the chillers are favored to win; I’m still not completely sold on this ID roster (although I expect them to jump up in the power rankings over the next few weeks) but I think it’ll be a close match regardless.

I’m especially looking at the mid lane matchup of Karma Warrior versus Halaas; Halaas is a very proven strong player and if Karma Warrior is able to get the upper hand in this matchup, it’ll answer a lot of the questions I had about these chillers coming into the split.

Team Ambition Furry

Zipper Gap

Team Ambition Furry bounced back well after getting hate crimed by Alternative Week 1 to take a clean 2-0 series against the zongster and his band of misfits.

Between weeks, Team Ambition Furry swapped out their jungler from Noobily to espresso, and it seems to have worked wonders.

Exhibit D: you, versus the guy she tells you not to worry about

I was very impressed with the level of team play that they put on display against Lotus, and I’m excited to see them take on a similarly strong team as MINT Tax Evasion. To be honest, I think the matchup between them is kind of a toss up, but I think it’s funny to flame MINT Savage so after their game loss vs Renge Tea Time I’m going to put this matchup in the favor of TA.

Now that I think about it, I actually did forget to check if TA has espresso tonight, so let’s check on that.

Exhibit E: Donowalled

I…might have to change my prediction. I’ll keep you guys updated…
